An SUV drove into the entranceway of the Mystic Thursday evening around 6:15. There were no injuries reported inside or outside the restaurant.
In fact, the restaurant did not close the real drive-through window, and while police and fire investigated and cleaned up, a steady stream of vehicles continued to enter the parking lot off Coogan Boulevard.
The female driver of the vehicle was not injured. Patrons inside the restaurant at the time were startled by the crash. Montville Patch editor Ellyn Santiago was inside at the time, and said the noise was quite loud. There was considerable broken glass everywhere.
