Firefighters Put Out A House Fire In Pawcatuck This Afternoon.

Firefighters battled a house fire at 83 Palmer Neck Road in Pawcatuck this afternoon.

The and the responded to the structure fire shortly after 2 p.m.

Witnesses reported seeing smoke coming from the house's eaves.

Neighbors said two people live in the house, but according to firefighters there was no one home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
