Omg!! Just sooo shocked and disappointed. Wondering if I really know anyone any more. Was my kids pedi for years and a great one at that. I'm holding on to " innocent until proven guilty"....but my gut is telling me something different. :(

I can't even wrap my head around this. My husband and I have been taking our kids to him for years and to just be finding out about this is just insane!

Very distressing. Been taking our son since he was born. Do not know how much I should tell him.

Same here. It's unbelievable.

I think it was totally uncalled for to make this "Breaking News". It seems to be in all the papers already, so what is the point in subjecting his family to this sort of thing? Without a doubt - the parents of his patients have been notified, are about to be notified via other means. And let us not forget...innocent until proven guilty.

The DOCTOR subjected his family to this "sort of thing", (as a previous poster worded this horrific crime) when he hid a "bag containing more than 100 printed images of what appears to be child pornography…” Quit blaming the press and others for what his family is suffering. The sick choices the pediatrition made is what is causing his family to endure such pain... not the message boards, the press, or public.

While this is a scary thing to learn about let's not jump to blame all of the doctors in the practice. We take our son there and have never had any real contact with Dr. Parilla. Our primary there is Dr. Campo and she is amazing. He is now gone and will have to deal with the consequences of his actions but we will continue to support Dr. Campo for as long as she practices pediatric medicine.
Lesa August 24, 2011 at 04:59 PM
I find this to be sad and unfortunate. Dr. Parilla was a fantastic physician. I am not condoning what he's been accused of nor am I condemning him as a person. None of us have a right to stand in judgement. He was always professional, and caring towards my girls. For that I am grateful. As for his personal choices, he will have to answer to someone or something far grater than us. I hope that the families of the practice will not run in fear, but support the staff and Dr. Campo, who no doubt are struggling to deal with this news themselves. @awest-you can't deny the media's love of sensationalism. I think that's where Christine was going with that.

I agree with you whole heartedly. Dr. Todd has always been informative, supportive and professional. He has helped me and my children through well time, illness and injury. I think so many of us are personally hurt and shocked because nothing he did in the office ever raised a question. His actions here are so egregious, but he will have to answer to the government and beyond. My thoughts are with Dr. Campo, Kathy and the support staff who hopefully will be able to hold everything together for the patients and the families.

I agree with many of your comments here and I feel betrayed and while I know that Dr. Campo and all the staff are not responsible for dr. Todds actions I no longer feel comfortable bringing my children there.  I have been completely heartsick over this.  I do love dr. Campo and hope this whole mess blows over for her so she and the staff can move on.  They are a wonderful bunch of people there and I always loved how dr. Todd was with my kids, he always showed them respect but innocent until proven guilty dosent apply when an admission of guilt is involved.  I too always sat in on his exams with my kids so I feel confident that nothing inappropriate occurred but on the same token just knowing someone with his proclivities touched my children, however it was meant, just makes me ill.

Still sick about this whole situation, like Nancy mentioned just to think that this sicko touched my children is a bitter pill. I hope he pays dearly for his actions and truly believe this is psychotic behavior of a sociopath that hit way to close to home for all of us that trusted him with our children's health. The only solace I take from this is the hope that my kids are to young and innocent to comprehend the severity of this ordeal. While I see him beat and suffer in prison I want all the money I have paid Westone back and a piece of his Porsche, home, practice and portfolio. To say we were duped is an understatement to say the least...

I think someone should think twice about commenting on this obviously disturbing matter. Remember if your name is on the comment, you are identifying your child as one of his patients. Everyone doesn't need to know that, and your child doesn't need everyone knowing that.

To those who say their children were not affected, Google "key fob cameras". That's what the police took along with the images. He was secretly videotaping something and since he's admitted to being sexually aroused by young boys, I'm betting that what he was taping. There's no way his private life crimes can be separate from his profession in this instance, which is another thing I've read. There is no excuse that can be made to justify or excuse this crime. Our children deserve to not be victimized, even if it's just by the impure intentions in getting their clothes off during an exam. Advocate for your kids!
