It wasn't clear if the boat had a stalled engine, but according to the U.S.C.G. the vessel was not in distress.
6:33 p.m.: The Mystic Fire Department is responding to a report of a boat in distress off Sandy Point.
A call was reported of a boat in distress off Sandy Point shortly before 6 p.m. The United States Coast Guard said the Mystic Fire Department was sending a boat to the area, but it wasn’t clear if the boat had run aground or had any occupants.
