Stonington Police Join Twitter

The Stonington Police Department is asking residents to follow them on Twitter

 

The Stonington Police Department has become part of Twitter. You can follow them on the 140-character social networking site @StoningtonPD.

In an email sent out to residents and businesses on Tuesday, Captain Jerry Desmond said the department will be sending out information on Twitter in addition to the email alert program.

“The Stonington Police will be following Connecticut Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Fema, and others news agencies so that when they send us a message alert, we can send them right out to you if necessary,” Desmond said in the email. “Like the email alerts, we will only be sending out information that we think is necessary.”

Attached to this article is a copy of the pdf the department sent out to residents and businesses with instructions on how to set up a Twitter account and follow the police department.
