Rep. Diana Urban serves the Assembly’s 43rd district, which includes the community of Stonington.     S.B. No. 303: an act returning a portion of the hotel sales tax to municipalities. First Selectman Edward Haberek Jr. sent a letter to Maynard and Urban on Jan. 10, 2011, requesting the act be advanced. The bill was introduced in 2010 and referred to the Committee on Finance, Revenue and Bonding.

    ":" Haberek sent a letter to Maynard and Urban on Jan. 10, 2011, requesting a hotel occupancy surcharge bill be considered. If Stonington was allowed to charge a $1 local surcharge on all hotel and lodging rooms the town could receive over $307,000 in additional revenue each year.
