North Stonington Gets STEAP Grant for Water Line Extension
The town of North Stonington will receive a $245,400 Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant for a 1,500-foot water line extension that will serve 12 residential homes, fairgrounds, the Grange Hall and the Old Fire Station, according to a press release from Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s office.
The extension will also provide a connection to the town’s new EMS center and a future water tower.
“Working with our small towns, we can identify important capital projects that improve the quality-of-life for residents, strengthen local infrastructure, encourage business growth and create jobs,” Malloy said. “The investments we are announcing today will help these towns move projects forward that ultimately make Connecticut a better place to live and do business.”
