Stonington Dems Endorse Haberek, Crouse for Next Term

Haberek is running for his fourth term, his running mate George Crouse is running for his third term.

Stonington Democrats endorsed incumbent First Selectman Edward Haberek Jr. and selectman George Crouse to lead the ticket in the November election. 

The Democratic Town Committee made several nominations and endorsements Tuesday, according to a report in the Westerly Sun. 

  • Town Clerk Cynthia Ladwig was endorsed for a ninth term
  • Retired probate Judge Paul Cravinho was nominated for treasurer
  • Incubant Republican Gisela Harma was endorsed for tax collector
  • June Strunk was endorsed to serve again on the Board of Finance
  • Incumbents Gail McDonald and Alisa Morrison were tapped to serve again on the Board of Education, Terry Stefanski was nominated as a new candidate
  • Betty Richards was endorsed for another term on the Board of Assessment Appeals
  • Sandy Grimes, Henry Suchy, Paul Altman, and David Santos were nominated as constables
