Panel Discussion on SE CT Econ. - Mystic Rotary

Mystic Rotary has an exciting program for its regular weekly meeting Monday, October 1st at the Mystic Hilton, and the public is invited.
There will be a panel of three experts discussing the current economic condition and forecasts for Southeastern CT.  The panel will include: Steven P. Lanza, the Executive Editor of The Connecticut Economy,  which is a quarterly journal published by UCONN;  Tony Sheridan, President of The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut, and John Beauregard, the Executive Director of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board.  A short biography for each panelist is attached.  The purpose of the panel discussion is to discuss the economic situation and outlook, especially employment in SE CT and CT in general. Panelists were selected for their expertise. These particular panelists were chosen because they were judged to be among the best individuals with a global, yet area-specific knowledge of our present and near future economic trends.
Rotary International is celebrating October as Vocational Services month all over the world, in more than 250 countries.  Vocational Service is one of the five avenues of service within Rotary. The event is the kick-off of four different vocational service programs to be presented during October. This specific event was developed to highlight the area's economy, particularly the job market.  We see all vocations being highly dependent upon the economy. Therefore, the global perspective of the area economy will set the stage for the following programs focusing upon specific vocations.  The meeting will commence promptly at 12:15 at the Mystic Hilton. Guests are encouraged to arrive by 12 noon in order to partake of the buffet luncheon. Cost is $15 for those who eat and $5 for those who do not. The President will conduct the usual opening ceremonies beginning at 12:20 and then turn the meeting over to Lisa Tepper-Bates who will moderate the discussion. There will be an introduction of speakers, presentations by speakers and question and answer period to follow. Each speaker will be limited to ten minutes followed by questions and answers from the audience.  The meeting should be over by 1:30 at the latest.  This promises to be a very exciting and informational event. The public and press are  invited to attend. For more information please contact Lisa Tepper-Bates at tep68@yahoo.com. Those who are not members of the Mystic Rotary Club and are planning to attend are requested to contact Lisa to ensure enough seating and food will be available.
