Paris in the Spring - A Lecture on Modernism, Stravinsky and Picasso

The Arts Commission of Christ Church will present a lecture on Sunday, March 25th at 4:00 pm by Michael Lankester entitled "Paris in the Spring". His talk will focus on Modernism in early 20th century France as it developed through composers and artists such as Stravinsky and Picasso. Mr. Lankester has enjoyed an eminent international conducting career that also includes work as composer, arranger, and commentator. His 15 years as the highly successful Music Director of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra were notable on many levels, including the introduction of several innovative series. As a lecturer, Mr. Lankester has appeared at the Wadsworth Athenaeum, the Yale Center for British Art and the Mostly Mozart Festival. Free and all are welcome. A reception will follow the lecture.
