SECAPA Open Meeting For Writers

Local Psychotherapist Julie Russell to Speak at SECAPA Meeting September 17th

             The Southeast Chapter of the Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association will present psychotherapist and motivational speaker Julie Russell at its next open meeting Monday, Sept. 17th, at Groton Public Library at 6:30 PM.

            Julie Russell, LCSW, a psychotherapist and motivational speaker, shares how she transforms trauma, losses, and other obstacles into positive life experiences. Currently working at Friends and Family Counseling Services, LLC in Stonington, she incorporates her positive and at times humorous perspective on achieving life goals. A member of the National Association of Social Workers and the National Federation of the Blind, she has spoken at professional organizations, universities, and healthcare establishments to share how others can implement changes with measurable results.

            Writers and others who encounter challenges to keep going in their endeavors will find Ms. Russell’s talk inspirational as well as informative. Her presentation, “Overcoming Obstacles To Stay Motivated,” will follow a brief business meeting that commences at 6:30 PM and refreshments will be served.
