Claudia Pagnozzi-Schwam is a sixth grader at Pine Point School

Claudia Pagnozzi-Schwam of Mystic has been selected to become a member of the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps, The Day reported.

"More than 200 kids around the country applied to the program this year, and Claudia was chosen for her exceptional application, which included multiple writing samples," Kristin Joerger, a spokesperson for Scholastic, said in the article.

The Pine Point School sixth-grade student will contribute stories to the Scholastic website's blog and her pieces may be published in the Scholastic school magazine.
