No School on Friday for Stonington Public Schools

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for Stonington

In advance of the winter storm Stonington Public Schools has cancelled school for Friday, Feb. 8, 2013. Here is the message that was sent out to the Stonington Public Schools community:

We have been closely following several weather projections related to tomorrow's pending storm. All of the forecasts indicate snow starting to fall tomorrow morning with heavy snow falling later in the day. With this early morning snow projection, in order to assure the safety of our students and staff members, school is cancelled for tomorrow, Friday, February 8th. All school activities are also cancelled for Friday and Saturday.

This message is being sent out as early as possible to allow families to plan for the upcoming storm. Please take all precautions to keep your family safe.

The unions are in support and wrote this bill with a couple of state representatives. Council 4 ofRead More AFSCME is fighting for this bill to pass for all those that work hard in the State of Connecticut. Any support would be great. Thank you.

my letter will be off monday,i am in total support of this bill. after working your whole life oneRead More should be able to retire with dignity and enjoy your last years. if the unions in the state can work with you for the passage of this bill, this bill SB 54 WILL PASS.
