Stonington Welcomes New Hires To Schools

Eight New Teachers Join Staff At Stonington Schools

Eight new faculty members will greet students at Stonington Public Schools this year.

Krysta Dessereaux will start teaching first grade at Deans Mill School next week. Dessereaux is from Middlebury, Connecticut and received her bachelor's degree in education from Central Connecticut State University.

“I am looking forward to meeting my group of students and collaborating with my fellow colleagues, it is a very exciting and rewarding time for me,” Dessereaux said.

Other new hires at the elementary schools are: Amanda Vargas, special education teacher at , teacher Jeffrey Mainetti and music teacher Emily Heerlein.

New at are: Norie Lembree, Spanish teacher; Amy McKenna , interdisciplinary coordinator and Matthew Binkowski, social studies teacher.

At the middle school level is math teacher Lucy Freitas.
