Students from , and as well as school administrators and teachers are in China for a field trip. Mandarin Chinese Education Teacher Feng Xue sent us these updates from the first few days of their trip:
June 30, Thursday Newark
We met at Stonington High School at 5:25 a.m. and a Peter Pan bus left for Newark International Airport in Elizabeth, NJ.
The flight lasted about 13 hours and we arrived in Beijing at 1:45 p.m. local time on Friday, July 1.
Upon arrival we proceeded to customs and stood in line until our passports were stamped. We then proceeded to the baggage area.
July 1 Friday (Dinner) Beijing
Our guide and driver met us right outside the baggage claim area. Once we all had our luggage the driver led us to the coach. We then departed for our Beijing Capital Hotel and arrived there approximately at 4:00 p.m.
We congregated in the lobby at 5:45 p.m. and the coach left for the local restaurant at 6:00 p.m.
We returned to the hotel around 8:15 p.m.
