Updates From The SPS Field Trip To China

Stonington Public School Students Visit China

Students from Mystic Middle School, Pawcatuck Middle School and Stonington High School as well as school administrators and teachers are in China for a field trip. Mandarin Chinese Education Teacher Feng Xue sent us these updates from their trip:

 July 4 Monday                         Beijing/Jinan

Breakfast in hotel was as usual.  Left 8:30 a.m. for the morning tour of Temple of Heaven.

Then we went to catch the afternoon flight to Jinan SC1156. We all went together to get our boarding passes, check in our luggage, and proceed to our gate.  It is imperative that we all pack LIGHT as there are weight limits on Chinese airlines. Any passenger holding an adult or child fare ticket is entitled to the free baggage allowance of 20kgs (44 lbs) for economy class. (If your luggage exceeds the weight limit, you will have to pay the fees yourself.)

No customs will be necessary at any of the Chinese airports until we leave Beijing for home.

Upon arrival, we went to meet the driver, take the coach and got to the Litian Hotel.

We had a relaxing afternoon, and prepared for the next day’s Cultural Exchange.
