The 'Legion' turf is about to be rolled out and onto the rebuilt Donald E Palmer Field at Stonington High School.
Rolls of turf in alternating shades of light and dark green are stacked and ready to 'roll' or in this case, be rolled.
The $1,066,219 project also includes a structural strengthening of the surface. Existing sprinkler systems installed in the current natural-grass field will be ripped out.
The project should be completed in time for football!
