Annual Thanksgiving Day Football Rally in Downtown Westerly Canceled
The annual rally has cheerleaders and supporters from both teams show up to, well, cheer! But the game is on!
The Thanksgiving Day football rally scheduled for tonight in downtown Westerly has been canceled because of poor weather and concerns for the safety of students, cheerleaders and spectators.
Cheerleaders and supporters meet near Westerly's Dixon Square every year to cheer on their respective teams -- the Stonington Bears and the Westerly Bulldogs.
But the game is still on, Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28 at 10 a.m. at Stonington High School's Donald E Palmer Field, and while the skies should be clear, it will be cold! Bundle up!
