Fitch Beats Stonington in Girls' Basketball Opener

The Bears and the Falcons did battle in Stonington, and the girls from Fitch prevailed.

The Fitch girls' basketball team defeated Stonington 56-47 Wednesday night in both teams' season opener.

Stonington took an early lead, but Fitch outscored the Bears 19-1 in the second quarter, including a halfcourt buzzer-beater. 

The Bears worked hard to climb back into the game, but a furious fourth-quarter rally fell short.
