Mystic defeated Fairfield 8-2 in the Junior State Championship to become State Champions on Sunday.
Caroline Taber pitched for Mystic all seven innings, striking out 11. Jackie Lewiis had a triple and single.
Taber helped her cause by giving Mystic two doubles and three rbi's. Also, Katherine Georgetti and Nalissa Amar had two hits and two rbi's.
Mystic moves on to the New England regionals and will open pool play vs Maine on Saturday in West Haven.
