Mystic Little League Junior Softball All-Stars Honored

With nicknames like "Lights Out," "Nails" and "The Rocket Launcher," it is perhaps no surprise these players won the 2012 state championship.

Thirteen young softball players and their coaches were honored by the Groton Town Council Tuesday, for winning the 2012 state championship.

The Mystic Little League Junior Softball All-Stars won the district 10 championship, the state sectional tournament for section II and the state championship. The team then advanced to the New England championship.

The team fought hard, but was defeated by West Shore and declared runner up.
