Old Saybrook

Fresh Salt - It sits where the fresh and salt water meets at the mouth of the Connecticut River, and according to the article, its "menu is intended to reflect the diversity of colliding ecosystems."

Dock & Dine - Irene sure took its toll on the poor Dock & Dine, but CT Mag still loves it! Be sure to give them a call to find out when they're reopening.

Old Lyme

The Chestnut Grille at The Bee and Thistle Inn and Spa - CT Mag says that "typical seafood offerings might include soft-shell crabs; house-cured gravlax with crispy potato cake and wild chive crème fraîche; and pan-seared diver scallops with forbidden rice, saffron-lime braised bok choy." Uh, yum!

Old Lyme Inn - It's under new ownership and it has undergone some renovations, but the Old Lyme Inn is back in action! CT Mag says that the inn's new chef, Dennis Young, throws together some "inventive" seafood offerings.

Flanders

Flanders Fish Market - It's a market and a restaurant! CT Mag says it's "famous for its clear clam chowder (it also has New England-style), fish-and-chips (featured on Food Network) and Sunday seafood buffet."

Niantic

La Belle Aurore - CT Mag says this place sure "knows its way around seafood providers" with offerings like "shrimp-and-crab bisque, rainbow trout roasted with herbs and mustard dill sauce, and Stonington sea scallops and shrimp with asparagus, fava beans, bacon and spinach."

Waterford

Sunset Ribs - Though this seasonal favorite is known for its ribs, CT Mag says "there’s a substantial selection of seafood on the menu, including raw bar items, Panko-encrusted baked scallops, blackened mahi-mahi with mango salsa, and boiled or stuffed lobsters straight from the tank."

New London

On The Waterfront - Here's what CT Mag says: "You’ll forgive this seafooder its Rhode Island-style clam chowder, when you sample the fried or baked Stonington sea scallops, fried whole belly clams, Cod Mediterranean and zuppa di pesce fra diavolo."

Groton

Paul's Pasta Shop - CT Mag likes Paul's views of the Thames River, the baked shrimp and the lobster ravioli.

Octagon - Yeah, maybe technically this one's a steakhouse, but CT Mag says the folks at Octagon "excels in the seafood department."

Noank

Abbott's Lobster In The Rough - CT Mag says sure seems to like this place: "incredibly fresh, simply cooked seafood in abundance in a clam-shack atmosphere with plenty of porch."

The Fisherman - In addition to your everyday seafood offerings, this place has "Native Clam Pan Roast, lobster cannelloni, a basil pesto shrimp pizzette, and Thai Red Curry and Coconut Sea Scallops," CT Mag says.

Mystic/Groton

Captain Daniel Packer Inne - Lots of seafood to be had at this history-packed place! CT Mag says "The food’s terrific and the atmosphere can’t be beat."

The Oyster Club - CT Mag says this farm- and sea-to-table restaurant is one "to watch!"

Mystic/Stonington

BravoBravo - CT Mag's recommendation will have your mouth watering: "This charming bistro offers elegant Italian-accented seafood and pastas, including Cajun BBQ Shrimp over polenta, champagne risotto with lobster and asparagus, lobster ravioli in a lobster chive sauce, and seafood stew over linguine."

Flood Tide in The Inn at Mystic - This one has "seafood options abound," CT Mag says, and water views, too!

Kitchen Little - Its new location at Mystic River Marina "has lovely water views from its second-floor dining room and porch," CT Mag says.

Stonington Borough

Dog Watch Café - CT Mag says this one has "sublime sunsets" and its "signature items include Ahi Tuna Tempura with a Trio of Sauces, fried calamari salad, Maine-style lobster rolls, whole belly clams, and the self-proclaimed 'best bouillabaisse in America.'"

Skipper's Dock - "Crowds come for seafood fare like bouillabaisse, Cajun-grilled shrimp, lobster salad sliders, mussels Provençale, stuffed Stonington quahogs, coquille Saint-Jacques, lobsters from the tank and oven-roasted striped bass," CT Mag says.

Pawcatuck

Prime Time Café - Just before you hit Rhode Island, CT Mag suggests stopping at the Prime Time Café offering "intriguing" options like "skewered prosciutto-wrapped scallops with Grand Marnier sauce, Chesapeake crab cakes with a chile corn relish and chipotle rémoulade, grilled tuna au poivre in an orange cumin sauce, crab-stuffed flounder in a hazelnut cream sauce and oyster stew."
