Some highlights from the week ahead...

Municipal Meetings

Monday: Conservation Commission meets a 7 p.m. at the police station and there’s a special Town Meeting at 7 p.m. at Stonington High School.

Tuesday: The Water Pollution Control Authority meets at 6:30 at the police station; Planning and Zoning Commission has a special meeting at 7 p.m. at Mystic Middle School.

Wednesday: The Architectural Design Review Board has a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. at Town Hall; the Board of Selectmen meet at 7 p.m. at the police station.

Monday: Today’s the last installment of the Mystic Aquarium’s “Dog Days of Summer” program and Sydney Sherman, a Connecticut medium, will present information about the paranormal at the Westerly Public Library tonight from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday: Oz: The Great and Powerful is playing at the Westerly Public Library at 1 p.m. today

Wednesday: There’s a free, illustrated talk by Dr. Nancy Shoemaker that will explore the experience of Native American whalemen during the era of Herman Mellville’s Moby Dick. The talk is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the LaGrua Center, located at 32 Water Street in the borough.

Thursday: Trivia tonight at Margarita’s at 9pm. There’s also trivia at the 99 Restaurant and at Applebees at 9 p.m.

Friday: There’s a blood drive today at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Whitehall Avenue from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the Mystic Farmers Market is today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind the Mystic Arts Center on Water Street.
