There's a lot going on in Stonington this week but surely student musicians performing holiday music is the highlight!

At Stonington High School, the winter band concert Dec. 10 at 7 features the Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble. Music Boosters will be selling poinsettias at the concert!

On Dec. 11, two Mystic Middle School winter concerts are slated. The first show, at 5:30 includes 7th grade band, 5th grade band and Jazz band and the second show at 7:30 features the 8th grade band, 6th grade band and Jazz Band.

And speaking of Mystic Middle School musicians, the Jazz Band performs Friday Dec. 13 at Mystic Aquarium as part of the Festival of Lights.

There are more than a dozen municipal meetings this week in Stonington from boards of education and police commissioners to Zoning Board of Appeals. Get the full rundown here.

And this, for many, may be the most important event of the week: on Tuesday Dec. 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Stonington Free Library is presenting a Workshop on the Affordable Care Act & Access Health CT.  The interactive workshop, developed by the Universal Health Care Foundation of CT, helps folks learn about the Affordable Care Act and CT's new insurance marketplace.  In addition to learning the basics about the law, you'll walk away with great resources for future use and a clear view of what's ahead. Call the library at 860-535-0658 with any questions or check out the website here.
