Calling All NonProfits

Local Non-Profit Organizations are being asked to participate in Economic Impact Study.

The Town of Stonington’s Nonprofit Roundtable has recently secured the services of Dr. Stanley McMillen to serve as the Lead Economist and Advisor to the economic impact study being conducted by the Roundtable.

The Roundtable is an association of volunteers working in close cooperation with the Town of Stonington and the Stonington Economic Development Commission.  The study is designed to assess the economic and quality of life benefits the nonprofit sector brings to the Town.  The results will be shared with participating nonprofits and the community at large.

Nonprofits located in or who serve Stonington residents are being invited to join this exciting initiative to collectively gather data necessary to complete the study.  The first stage of the study will ask nonprofits to complete a brief on-line survey to gather basic demographic information specific to each non-profit’s scope of services.  The second stage of the study will involve collection of additional data pertaining to the services and products nonprofits offer, number of employees, and other aspects of their operations that benefit and impact Stonington. Non-profits not actively engaged in the collection of data will be included in the study through inclusion of publicly available information.

Nonprofits located in the Town of Stonington and non-profits located outside the Town and serve Stonington who have not yet received an email or mailed correspondence invitation are encouraged to contact the Chair of the Economic Impact Study, Wendy Bury at nonprofitroundtable@stonington-ct.gov.
