Edward Haberek, Neighbor

Edward Haberek Jr. is the First Selectman in the Town of Stonington, CT. He has over 20 years experience as a corporate and academic leader. Previously, Ed was the Academic Director/Professor of the Marketing Department in the School of Business Administration and Legal Studies at Briarwood College in Southington, CT. Ed also served as an Adjunct Business Faculty Instructor at several Connecticut State Universities, Private Colleges, and Online Institutions. Furthermore, Ed has consulted, presented and/or spoke at a number of national and local conferences and seminars on the subjects of Marketing, Teamwork, and Entrepreneurship. Ed’s business experience includes working for several Fortune 500 companies including Becton Dickinson and DuPont. His experience includes the fields of executive management, sales, marketing, and training. His business experience also included work as Director of Sales and Marketing for the U.S. and Canada for one of the top 200 ranking European corporations. He has also held positions in the capacity of Sales Training Coordinator, Market Development Specialist and Northeast Sales Manager. He has directed the development, evaluation and launch of several consumer products and has received various regional and national sales awards. A continuous learner, Ed holds a B.S. from Southern Vermont College, a M.B.A. from Johnson & Wales University, Advanced Certificate in Graduate Studies in Business Administration from Touro University International and a Ph.D. in Management/Political Economy from International Academy of Management & Economics (I.AME) based in Makati City, PH. He has also completed extensive human relations training, including becoming a Certified Business & Life Strategies Coach from Spencer Institute in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.
