William Brighenti, CPA
Certified Public Accountant
I operate a small public accounting practice here in Berlin, Connecticut:  Accountants CPA Hartford, Connecticut, LLC.  I prepare, review, and audit financial statements, prepare tax returns, undertake accounting and bookkeeping assignments, and provide QuickBooks consulting services for small businesses and not-for-profit organizations as well as provide tax preparation and planning for individuals.
My penname on various accounting blogs is the Barefoot Accountant.  I acquired that name because of operating my business out of my home in an attempt to minimize my overhead, providing certified public accounting services at a fraction of the cost of other public accounting firms in the area, in addition to the fact that while working at home I often go barefoot.  (I wear shoes in public.) I started in public accounting in the 1970s and have worked at a number of public accounting firms in Connecticut.  I have published a number of articles on accounting, taxes, and QuickBooks in professional CPA journals as well as on accounting websites. For more information about my accounting firm and about the subjects of accounting, taxation, and QuickBooks, please visit my website at Accountants CPA Hartford, Connecticut, LLC, where a variety of articles that I have written are available for your reading.  And please feel free to call me at (860) 249-1323, or email me via my website, http://www.cpa-connecticut.com. If you have a passion for national politics as I do, please visit my blog, The Barefoot Accountant on Accounting, QuickBooks, Taxes, and Politics.  There I discuss the issues affecting the wallets and pocketbooks of American middle class families, including the inequity in our tax code.  And for the more local politics, please visit my blog, Connecticut Politics.  If you are passionate about a local political issue, please email it to me and I will certainly consider it for publication on this blog. The mission of a citizens audit committee is to help local politicians, taxpayerMore activists, and concerned citizens to lower onerous property taxes by organizing to reduce local budgets, both for their towns and schools.
