Fred Astaire Dance Studio In Mystic Expanding

Business will add 1,600 square feet of studio space

There are a lot of people grabbing their dancing shoes and heading to in Mystic. So many, that the business will be increasing the size of their dance studio in March.

The studio at 12 Roosevelt Ave., will add 1,600 square feet to their existing studio space.

“We are looking forward to using the new space adjacent to our existing 2,400-square-foot ballroom,” said Studio Manager, Juliet Thibodeaux.

The studio is expanding due to an increasing demand in their business, which includes group and individual dance classes for new and experienced dancers.

After months of planning and construction Fred Astaire Dance Studio hopes to open the new space with a grand opening in March.

“We will offer classes for children from pre-kindergarten to high school level,” she said, “still offering our professional, fun and friendly learning atmosphere in an exceptionally convenient location,” Thibodeaux said.

The studio plans to increase the number of Zumba classes currently being offered as well as offer classes on basic movement, ballet, jazz and ballroom. The basic movement class is geared towards children to introduce them to dance.
