Phoenix Rising Equine Rescue Open Barn Celebration

This time of year is always a special time on the farm for two reasons. First, our annual “Open Barn” is coming up. Second, we get to visit again with old friends and make new ones when you join us to reconnect with horses you’ve helped and to meet those new ones that have come in.

Our Annual “Open Barn” Celebration is at 1 Pinewood Road, North Stonington on Sunday, November 10, from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. Come and meet our beloved horses and see how your support literally saves lives! We’ll have a HUGE tag sale, face painting, refreshments, and music by Joe Majesky of the Cartells.

We also launch our year-end fundraising drive when many of you dig deep to help the farm get through the winter months. Giving our horses the extra special care they need due to their age or injuries can cost $500 per horse or more. Winter brings additional expenses such as higher electricity and heating bills, more expensive feed and additional bedding needed to keep our horses warm.

For seven horses currently at our rescue this runs $5,000 per month. This doesn’t take into account events that have been a real hardship in recent months: the summer furlow, the federal government shutdown, and extraordinary veterinary expenses.

With every $15 or $20 donated we do it. If you are able to make a monthly gift or even a one-time gift we’d be so very grateful. Please go to our website at www.phoenixrisingequinerescue.org to donate online.

On behalf of Bart, Bubba, General Lee, Laddy, Merlin, Ryan and Sylvester THANK YOU for your generosity and all you do for us and our horses at Phoenix Rising. We would not be here today-in our 13th year-without you!

With sincere gratitude,

Sue Kruetter
