Helping to Make a Merry Christmas With PNC’s Adopt-A-Family

Local businesses onboard with program, like Yellow House in Stonington Borough

The Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center’s Adopt-A-Family program means many Stonington families, who might not otherwise, will have a merry Christmas this year.

A number of local businesses have embraced the Adopt-a-Family program. Yellow House, in the Borough for example.

“We’re doing it to help out the community, to help people in need,” Yellow House owner Shanna Geary.

The Yellow House adopted family includes a 2-year-old boy, 1-year-old girl and 3-month old baby. Geary and staff created a Christmas tree poster with paper ornaments listing suggested gifts. Folks take an ornament and bring back the gift, unwrapped.

“We’ve had a great response so far and we’re hoping that will continue. We’d really like to help this family have a nice Christmas,” she said.
