3. The is hoping to bring a drive-in movie theater to Mystic. At the Tuesday, Feb. 21, meeting of the Stonington Planning and Zoning Commission the Mystic Aquarium asked the commission to clarify the regulations surrounding an outdoor movie theater. The pzc decided to allow the aquarium to submit an application for a one-night outdoor exhibit for April 20th. If the aquarium submits an application in time for the next pzc meeting the commission will make a decision then. The commission also voted to have town planning staff draft a text change application which if approved would allow the Aquarium to then submit and possibly gain approval for an additional eight days of a drive-in movie theater in July and August.
