Barefoot Truth’s Will Evans Sets Out on Solo Project

Evans is hoping to raise $10,000 to release a solo album

Even though popular local band Barefoot Truth is taking a break, at least one member of the band is planning to continue making music.

Will Evans of Mystic is beginning a solo career and is hoping to raise $10,000 to release a solo album.

“I really want to do this album for the people who have really enjoyed the music I've written for Barefoot Truth,” Evans posted on fundraiser page Indiegogo. “The folks who write emails to us about how one of my songs helped them through tragedy or a difficult time in their life. I've got a whole bunch of new songs for people who need a remedy; I just need the help to get started. “

According to Evans each song requires about three days spent in a studio and everyday in the studio costs about $500. For a 10-song album that’s about $15,000 not including printing costs.

Evans has raised more than $6,000 with visitors to his Indiegogo page giving and average of $96 per contribution. The average contribution across the site is $68.

Barefoot Truth, composed of Evans, Andy Wrba, Garrett Duffy, Jay Driscoll and Wayno, formed in 2003 and announced their farewell tour in July of 2012. The band made it to number 10 on the iTunes Top Rock Album Chart in September 2011.
