Carolina Fiber and Fiction Center co-founder inspires emerging writers
MYSTIC- Weaver and writer Grace Farrell will be the guest speaker at an autumn retreat for emerging writers on Saturday, October 27. The Creating a Writing Life program facilitated by local writer Patricia Ann Chaffee, brings writers of all abilities and genres together to celebrate and improve their craft. Farrell is the author of five books and founder of the writer’s Studio at Butler University as well as the co-founder of the Carolina Fiber and Fiction Center in Rhode Island. She has taught writing and literature in universities for 35 years and holds a Ph.D in English and American Literature from Brown University.

Creating a Writing Life programs have been going on for five years, giving writers a place honor and recognize the writing life that they hope to take to another level. They often leave inspired and make connections with other writers passionate about the craft. The programs are usually offered only during the summer months on Mason’s Island so this autumn retreat is a special opportunity. The full day retreat includes nourishment for the body, soul and creative spirit in a positive, encouraging atmosphere.
Patricia Ann Chaffee is a poet, photographer, freelance writer and former journalist for Sun Publishing. Through the Creating a Writing Life programs she encourages emerging writers to tap into their unique literary gifts. She designs workshops and retreats to nourish the soul, awaken the muse and celebrate the creative life.
