Farmers Market Use of Town Dock OK'd by Board of Selectmen

Local goods will be sold from 9 a.m. to noon starting May 4 and running through Oct. 26.

The Board of Selectmen on Wednesday approved a request by the Stonington Village Improvement Association to use the Town Dock for the Stonington Farmers Market on Saturday mornings from May 4 to Oct. 26.

The farmers market, which is in its 15th season, will be open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. The market has use of the entire dock area, but will primarily be using the fields and the parking lot.

In its formal request, the SVIA specifically requested that vendors unaffiliated with the farmers market be prohibited from operating during the farmers market's hours.
