Health & Fitness

My "Fatness to Fitness and Health" Journey Carries On

My journey of fitness and health continues.

Well I am on Day 5.

So far I have learned new words like Bok choy, which apparently I like, and that salads and greens will not kill me. Walking has been difficult because the weather and my work like to cause interruptions.

I was all set to walk at Bluff Point yesterday late in the afternoon and just as I pulled into the parking lot, my cell rang with a call from a client which caused me to forgo the walk and solve the problem. But (and I'm so proud of myself for this) I went to my office, resolved the issue and went home and did a 30 minute Tae Bo work out video. By saying I did this work out means I didn't pass out, I got through 25 minutes before realizing I really need to start the cool down before I die and can walk today.

And if anyone reading this has ever done Tae Bo, you get exactly what I mean. All in all, it was a great workout which I needed after a trying, frustrating work day. And to add to my pride, my other half, who is trying to be supportive but really isn't sure how to be, walked in the minute I finished my work out and said "Would you like a beer?" So after staring at him dumbfounded because obviously by my laying across the couch like I was about to die, sweat pouring off me and beet red, I had just finished exercising so beer wouldn't be my first choice of beverage, I stated "It's Pumpkin Beer, isn't it?"... and I pause here to tell you, I love Pumpkin Ale! Love it! So doing the absolute right thing, I replied "I just finished working out which is why I look like I do and please hide the pumpkin beer deep in the refrigerator so no, I will not be having one."

So I continue on this journey and I feel pretty good so far. I am still sleeping well, this is amazing for me. I am actually very tired when I go to bed so that helps. I do not have cravings and I am trying to listen to my body to tell me when it's hungry instead of eating out of boredom, stress or eating because the clock tells me it's time. This is a great lesson for me because I did not have good eating habits before starting this health program with Laura. I actually had myself convinced that Pumpkin Beer and Apple beer could count as my fruit and vegetable intake, sadly, this is not true!
