Celebrate Stonington Borough while celebrating the release of Hope Springs. That’s the idea behind a month-long event the is planning.
Partly filmed in the Borough, , and debuts in the area on August 10, 2012. Originally called Great Hope Springs, the movie according to a press release from Mandate Pictures and the , follows a woman named Maeve (Streep) seeking to spice up her marriage. Maeve and her husband (Jones) go to the town of Great Hope Springs to meet a relationship guru (Carell) for “an intense week of marriage and sex therapy.”
The Hope Springs Movie Premiere Event Planning Committee is working on all the details of the debut weekend, but is thrilled to announce a month-long Save the Stub promotion centered on Hope Springs and the Stonington Borough businesses.
Anyone who goes to see the movie between August 10 and 19, and saves his or her movie ticket stub is eligible to receive discounts at participating Stonington Borough businesses through September 16, 2012.
A Save the Stub passport listing the discounts as well as all of the exciting events taking place in the borough through the end of the year will be available at the in Pawcatuck, at locations around the borough and downloadable on Patch. Bring the passport and your movie ticket stub to the appropriate store or restaurant to receive the discount and receive a stamp on your passport.
