Patch Editor Wins State Agriculture Award

Stonington-Mystic Patch editor Bree Shirvell received a 2011 Connecticut Agricultural Journalism Award Wednesday for an article she wrote about the Denison Farm Market.

Shirvell and nine other journalists received plaques and $100 honorarium in a ceremony Wednesday at the state Capitol during Connecticut Agriculture Day. Bob Heffernan, Executive Director of the Connecticut Green Industries Council, and Agriculture Commissioner Steven K. Reviczky presented the awards.
