A Recap Of The Week's Top Stories On Stonington-Mystic Patch

If there was a theme to the past week it would be economic development.

For some it was the start of economic development. Brom Builders of Norwich a senior living facility on the Coogan Farm property in Mystic. The approval came after months of debate about traffic patterns, the need for senior housing and open space. The company hopes to begin construction in the spring.

There was also frustration over the lack of economic development in Pawcatuck. The news would be given another chance to on River Road angered some while making others question the town’s blight ordinance.

One question the town and Stonington Borough will soon have to answer is whether or not to . gave us an update on the borough meeting with representatives from the health district, and on March 14 the board of selectmen will hold a joint town and borough meeting with Ledge Light Health officials. We surpassed a Patch milestone this week. We now have over 1,000 fans on Facebook, the first Patch but certainly not the last, in the southeastern Connecticut region to hit that mark. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us and spread the word about Patch.

this summer. The is seeking permission from the Stonington Planning and Zoning Commission to erect a temporary movie screen. The pzc will most likely make a decision on an April trail run for the drive-in at their March meeting. Would you want to see drive-in movies at the aquarium this summer?
