It was nice to see all the good news this week, especially since it won’t be long until the Town of Stonington has some tough decisions to make.

One of those decisions will be whether or not the town and the borough join the Ledge Light Health District. The borough and the town will hold a joint informational meeting on March 14. According to First Selectman Edward Haberek Jr., a decision will not be made at that meeting, but he would like a decision by the end of April. The borough will also have to decide whether or not to join. A poll released this week showed that more than 50 percent of Stonington Borough Merchants Association members .

The Town of Stonington and the Town of Groton are also struggling over their 2012-2013 budgets especially the issue over . Members of the Stonington Board of Selectmen attended the Groton Town Council meeting this week to discuss library funding. How important is funding the library to you?
