Summertime may not officially be here but it certainly is unofficially. The weather is finally getting warm. The week started off with community gatherings, parades and lunches all in honor of current and former members of our armed services. Take a look at the great photographs from the , the and the .

Unfortunately, summertime also means mosquitoes. On Friday Christine Woodside wrote about how even with funds dwindling the agricultural experiment station continues mosquito testing. There are some tips for the best times to avoid mosquitoes.

Stonington High School sports had an amazing week, really an amazing day. In his Replay Column Larry Kelly writes, “June 1, 2011 could rank as the most glittering day in the history of Stonington High athletics.” Congratulations to all of the Stonington High athletes.

Michael Costanza was back in Mystic in for this month’s Under $30 challenge. He went to breakfast at Kitchen Little and wasn’t quite able to find a meal for two for no more than $30 including tax and tip, but the little restaurant is still one of our favorites.
