Mystic Arts Center named Business of the Month for June

Each month, the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce highlights a member business deserving of special recognition. We are thrilled to announce the Mystic Arts Center as the June recipient of the Business of the Month award. Throughout May, we received nominations for this award from businesses in many different industries based on factors including outstanding community involvement, achievements and overall success. The Mystic Arts Center excels in all of these categories. Celebrating their centennial anniversary this year, the Mystic Arts Center has been an integral part of Mystic and the regional art scene for the past 100 years. Today, the Mystic Arts Center is a place of culture, tradition and New England charm. Open year-round, seven days a week, the Mystic Arts Center’s mission is to foster the creation, understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts through exhibitions and education programs designed to facilitate these objectives. The educational nonprofit organization supports this mission through its four art galleries, state of the art studio space, classrooms and art reference library. Its property also includes access to the waterfront, a large parking area, and the ability to rent out for special occasions. In addition, the Mystic Arts Center conducts regularly scheduled series of juried, open and invitational exhibitions throughout the year, presents a wide range of programs in the performing arts, offers fine art for sale, and maintains a museum quality archive department and permanent collection. The Mystic Arts Center involvement in our community is truly admirable. It promotes the importance of the arts through its studio classes designed for all ages, as well as its home-school programs and outreach programs to local schools. The Mystic Arts Center has grown into a community staple and a place residents and visitors alike love to visit again and again. An organization that promotes appreciation for the arts on a community-wide level and has contributed significantly to this area deserves recognition, and for that we are proud to honor the entire Mystic Arts Center team.
