Mystic River Bridge Whistle

Can we discuss the horrible noise our beloved drawbridge now makes? It makes me flinch every time I hear it. What an awful noise! What happened to our quaint whistle? They cannot possibly be thinking of leaving this noise as its replacement, can they?!?
