You know when you see William Connell in his trademark sun hat with his ladder and paint buckets arrive at the Como Thrift Store that the Village Fair is just around the corner.
Connell painted the billboards on the store roof last week. I asked him if the wave was Hurricane Sandy, and he said that he came up with the design before the storm hit the Borough last October
"But people can see in it what they want," he said, "and if it helps people heal then that's good.
The Village Fair is Saturday Aug. 3 from 11 am to 4 pm in Wadawanuck Square.
