What's Up in Stonington This Week?

Singing, Christmas wrapping, several meetings, ACA workshop, early dismissals and more.

Love this! The students participating in Stonington High School's CloseUp! Washington weeklong study trip will wrap your holiday gifts for FREE! Come to the SHS Commons Monday Dec. 16, from 7-8:30 p.m. when students will wrap gifts. “If you are inclined to offer a donation to their trip, they would be grateful,” teacher Mr. Richard Walter notes.

Four municipal Town meetings posted this week; two have been canceled. On as scheduled are Monday’s Conservation Committee Special Meeting set for 7 in the Stonington Police Department community room and the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. at Mystic Middle School on Tuesday Dec. 17. The canceled meetings are Monday’s Plan of Conservation Development subcommittee meeting slated for 7 p.m. and Wednesday’s Architectural Design Review Board originally set for 5:30 p.m.

And in the Borough, the Board of Warden & Burgesses meet Monday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Borough Hall and on Thursday Dec. 19, the Zoning Board of Appeals meet at 7:30 p.m., also in Borough Hall.

Besides a 50-50 chance of snow and or rain Tuesday into Tuesday night, it looks to be a lovely weather week; with quite a bit of sun accompanied by seasonal temperatures.

Affordable Care Act and CT's new insurance marketplace workshop that was postponed last week will be held Tues. Dec. 17th from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Stonington Free Library.
